Communities of Greene County - Dana

Dana was founded in 1879 by Samuel Dana on the Minneapolis and St. Louis railroad. At one time, a cheese factory in Dana produced 12,000 pounds of cheese per day from area dairie.

Today's Dana is much more oriented to grain farming and pork production. Juhl Feed, an agricultural supplier, is the major business. In 2011, Junction Hilltop Wind constructed five new wind towers nearby, helping supply power to the local Louis Dreyfus ethanol plant which is south between Dana and and Grand Junction.
